What To Do When Management Skills Are Lacking And The Team Is Not Executing Well?

Assigning duties and responsibilities to each employee so that everyone has something to do and everything can be implemented

Last updated: Apr 09, 2025

All kinds of management chaos are ultimately a sign of inadequate execution. It is precisely because something has gone wrong with execution that this phenomenon has arisen. Many leaders do whatever they can to change this situation, using all sorts of methods, but never with much success.
Today, let me share with you some solutions to the problem. If you want to build a high-execution team, you don't need to get angry or point fingers, you just need to grasp the following 4 points.

The first point: the law of the wolf pack
The reason why wolves are strong is that they are team-oriented, organized and disciplined. And all this is brought about by the head wolf, and with its influence, it infects the other lone wolves. So, as a manager, you must do the following 2 things.
1. Lead by example
Make an example, give the staff a sample and set a benchmark. With an example, subordinates will naturally follow and learn. If even the managers are cowering and hiding at the end, how can the staff go to the front?
2, call to action
The appeal of the manager comes from his charisma, such as doing things in a thunderous manner, fair and just, just and righteous, not to the person. These can enhance personal charisma, shape a good image and enhance management ability. As long as the management ability goes up, the management ability will naturally grow with it.

The second point: the last elimination system
Employees many times because there is no pressure, so there is no motivation, lack of execution. Every day can live comfortably, mix a mix on the past, who wants to suffer day and night hard work? But if you put pressure on them, those who don't work hard will lose their jobs, and the situation will change radically. This is the last-place elimination system that many companies are implementing, with the following 2 main points to note.
1. Being at the bottom of the team for a quarter or a long period of time means that the value created is very low. Such people are either too mediocre and of limited value; or they refuse to work hard and spend their days muddling through, and should never be kept.
2, according to the rules to eliminate the assholes, one to reduce the burden and burden of the team, the second can leave open space to absorb fresh blood, to maintain the vitality of the team.

The third point: process management
The system manages people, the process manages things, and the management sets the mountain. Since the system has been bound to people, the next thing to do is to rationalize things. It is the following 3 steps.
1, clear objectives
Make the goal clear, so that subordinates know which direction they should go, what to do, to what extent, what to achieve the goal.
2、Distribution of work and cooperation
To each employee to set the post and responsibilities, so that everyone has something to do, everything can be implemented. Once any problem arises, you can find the root cause and the person in charge in time and solve it completely.
3、Supervision and inspection
The work progress of the staff should be spot-checked from time to time, and only with enough information under control can we control the big picture and prevent a big mess.

Fourth point: results assessment
Poor staff execution is very often due to the lack of assessment. Lack of appraisal, there is a lack of pressure. Employees will only do what you want to assess, not what you want them to do. Do any work must be results-oriented, no matter how good the process, as long as the results do not work, everything is in vain, without any value. Because it is only when benefits are created that the effort can be recognised and the team can survive. Otherwise, not only will it be difficult for the team to survive, but even the employees' remuneration will be difficult to be settled. Of course, the appraisal must remember the following 3 principles.
1, the appraisal should have a standard. The so-called standard is the goal set at the very beginning, as the standard of measurement, to make a judgment.
2. Appraisal can be phased. Not only the last moment can be appraised, each small stage can also be appraised accordingly after completing the work, which can play a certain role in promoting.
3、Appraisal should not only focus on quantity, but also control the quality. Appraisal must be rigorous, in keeping with the quantity of the premise, more attention should be paid to the final quality, if any of the substandard, must be reworked.

In short, want to build a high execution team, must establish good rules, improve the process, set good goals, good assessment.
